When the police check you they do it really well or do they!?

I had borrowed my fathers red Volkswagen as we were going to the supermarket to buy the weeks groceries. My husband was driving the car. As we were passing Hellasgarden which is a huge natural park we were stopped by the police. The policeman asked us: - Is this you car? We replied - No. It is my father's car. Ok he said. I want to see your IDs and the driver's license. My husband gave the police a pink paper document which is a Greek drivers license with a photo taken when he was a teenager and that was like 10-15 years ago. It was valid until he was going to retire. Hm ok said the police man I will check the details wait here. My husband also had to do an alcohol test which he passed with flying colours. So we waited a long time. When the policeman returned from the van he gave us back everything and said: Ok you may go but if you plan on staying in Sweden then I would suggest that you change your license into the Swedish one. I was curious and asked so now with the European Union you can actually confirm that my husband has a Greek driver's license? He replied: No. I replied eh ok thank you and we drove off. We shopped and on our way back on the other side of the road at the same park we were waived in again by the exact same policeman. We slowed down opened the window and said: Really!? Again? He first looked suspiciously at us as we refused to do what he indicated to drive into the side but he then recognised us smiled and waived that we could continue....
