I saw a lady standing with her back turned towards me. Oh, it is my friend Anna! I jumped on her back and hugged her from behind and said: Hi there! How great to see you! She turned around and it was an unknown person. She replied: You thought I was someone else didn´t you? I probably looked hilarious when I realised it was not my friend....well...just another "normal" day.
This blog will be dedicated to the strange encounters I face. These encounters makes the boring normal day-to-day life much funnier. I have called myself "Really!?" as a blogger due to that sometimes I ask myself did this really happen to me? Really!? If you are new to this blog I would recommend to start with the old posts first.

When I stuck my head where it did not belong.....
When I was about 7 years old I was visiting my cousins and we were out playing like kids do. I was a curious child and maybe I still am curios but anyway back to the subject. We walked on a bridge over a highway and on this bridge were fences on each side. I do not know what I was thinking but I pushed my head in between the metal bars and I stood bent down looking at the cars driving under the bridge. Oh no I am stuck! I could not get back out again. My cousin and my brother ran away and left me there standing all alone on the bridge with my head stuck. I think some people walked passed me but I didn´t look... well I could not turn to look anyway. After a while and after a lot of cars had passed by my parents arrived. I do not know what they did but after a while I was free and could stand up straight. My ears and head were a bit squeezed. I will never do that again!

Walking a dog is easy..or is it?
My family has mostly had cats and I am not used to dogs. Once I stayed over at a friends house and she had a huge dog. I volunteered to walk the dog. It was a dark autumn evening. The dog stopped and left a pile of poo. Then I was not prepared that just when he was ready he started to pull the Leach and he was so strong so he pulled me forward so I stepped right into the poo with both feet. Wonderful! I did not have to gather the poo in a plastic bag...I had it on my shoes. When I came back to the owner I tried to clean the shoes in the bathtub but it was very difficult and smelly. So, my had to spend the night outdoors. POO SHOE....

Flying priests....
I was going to travel from Stockholm, Sweden to Athens with Austrian Airlines and I had to change plane in Vienna. In Vienna I saw two Greek priests walking to the same aeroplane as I did. They had black beard and black robes and black hats. I thought to myself: I wonder who will sit beside them? I was amused by the thought. Well, you know by now that of course it was I who was seated together with the two priests. OK, this will be interesting....They were very kind and asked if I wanted to have the window seat. At take off the started to pray and well up in the air they started to speak to me. We became friends and I was invited to their monastery. When we were landing they also sang and prayed. I felt somehow a bit safer to have my new friends beside me. We waived goodbye and that was the last time I saw them.

Saving a life feels great
Last Sunday I was walking with my brother along in the area where I live and it was 20:00 o´clock in the evening and two younger girls passed me and then a cat came walking straight at me. I love cats so I bent down to pat it and then I said: It is just bones!
Just looking at it you could not tell as it has lots of fur. The fur was also packed in big lumps.
The two girls turned around and said the cat has been following us for a long time. So, what could we do!? It was really cold around 0 Degrees Celsius. The cat would freeze to death. I phoned around to organisations who helps animals but no one could help until maybe the next day. So, I found a neighbour who lived just beside the street we were. She jumped out of her house and took the cat inside her apartment. She already has a cat and that could be trouble of it was a male cat we brought in but we had a feeling it was a female. So, the homeless cat was saved at least for the night. Next day a visit to the vet and they said yes, it is a female and she is 7-10 years old and in very poor condition. They tried to fix the fur and told my neighbour and her friend Lisa that she might not make it due to the starvation. Lisa´s heart melted and Lisa has now adopted the cat. She is getting better and better so fingers crossed that she will survive. Saving lives is easy when there are good people in the world.

Danish pastry you stupid Swede!
We were on holiday at Bornholm an island which belongs to Denmark. We went to a bakery to eat something nice. We ordered coffee and the lady asked us something which we did not understand as it was in Danish. As we did not understand she asked us again in a higher tone and we still did not understand so she almost screamed. - One or two coffees? As if that would help. Then I pointed to some cakes and said I would like that croissant. The lady got angry and screamed. -It is not a croissant it is a Danish pastry!!!

You are too moral
I had a manager once who said to me in an appraisal (utvecklingssamtal = Swedish) that I was too moral without explaining exactly what he meant. I got upset but did not show it. I mean would the same manager say to another employee: You are too immoral.
No, I do not think so! Why is that a problem to be moral!?
In today´s society we will have success if we behave bad and do immoral things by the looks of it!

Awkward crocs moment....
I was travelling on the bus and a lady sat on the seat next to me and my daughter in the seat in front of me. My daughter had been nagging about getting a pair of crocs = foppa tofflor (Swedish). Well, I had always turned her down saying: NO CROCS! This was the same procedure as all the other times and I answered the same as I always did regarding crocs. NO, NO CROC. THEY ARE SO UGLY. THE UGLIEST SHOES YOU CAN HAVE. SO, NO CROCS!. Then I thought why did she start to ask about that now? I looked around and discovered to my huge embarrassment that the lady sitting beside me had a pair of red crocs. Great! Just typical me...what an awkward moment...

SMS helps us from fights
Our cat Tarzan (house cat) who adopted us is having some territorial problems. The almost next door neighbour is a Bengal cat. They have been in several fights and Tarzan our cat was hurt several times and had to visit the vet and it costed us some money. So, what did we do to avoid these fights? Thank God for mobile phones! We are texting to each others so we can keep track on when the other cat is out or in so the fighters do not meet each others. That is a lot of hassle but what can we do....sms sms sms...This is a Bengal cat and the other photo below is our cat.

Do not invite us anymore!
Me and my boyfriend were invited home to a relative of his so we decided to buy some pizzas to surprise them with but the surprise was on us. We arrived at their house and it was all dark and no one answered the door. We waited with our warm pizzas outside in the dark sitting down on their doorsteps. The agreed time was 20:00, but no one arrived, so when we had waited 20 minutes we thought maybe something had happened or maybe they forgot, so we sat down and ate up all the pizzas and left the pizza boxes and bread crusts on their doorsteps. The next day we met the relatives and it was obvious that they told us a lie of why they were not at home...

Weird date
I was on a dinner date and the man I dated asked me from time to time: - You are not leaving? Which was weird. I was going to the ladies and he asked: You are not going to disappear now? The thing is that it was not a joke and he really meant it. So, needless to say I disappeared after the date ended....

A really strange first 5 minutes in Vilnius
Summer vacation! We were on the bus to Vilnius Lithuania's capital and my husband who Always reads a lot told us that Lithuania was in the lead for suicide being the third country in the world with the most suicides. I do not know why he had to bring this up but OK he is a bit nerdy. We arrived to our hotel in the city and we checked in and said: Let us check out the old town! We crossed a bridge and passed two policemen. I did not think a lot about that there is nothing unusual about policemen. Then when we had crossed the bridge there were two police cars parked there and my husband said:
Turn around look there is a man who is going to jump! We turned around and there he was sitting on the slim part of the bridge as he had climbed over fence. I said let us go away I do not want to see anyone kill themselves. So our first 5 min in Lithuania was really not a pleasure to be there.
Then we had a brilliant holiday after this in Vilnius. We want to return next summer!
Here is a photo of him dressed in black and the hotel in the background.

There is someone evil outside our door
When we lived in London we had a not so pleasant experience. We lived an a house with several studios with the same main entrance. One evening someone had written nasty words on the main entrance and started a fire in the common garbage bin outside. That was a bit scary. I really think that I am one of very few people who have had this horrible experience.

What did I find in a lawn????
I was walking barefoot on a lawn and suddenly it did not feel right in my foot. I looked down and checked why it was uncomfortable under my foot...and what did I find!? I mean really!? A coloured pin (knappnål in Swedish) was stuck straight into my foot! You could only see the round colour on the top of it. Oh Great! Just typical! I pulled it out and cursed the person who was so stupid to throw a pin on to a lawn.

My day in court
When I worked in London I had a female colleague who were discriminated at work and she wanted to bring our employer to court and she called me in as a witness. Eh, ok...hm that was a difficult decision if I was going to be a witness to her favour as it would be against sort of my employer. Well it was actually not really the employer as it was a couple of colleagues behaving badly but still if she won the company would pay up. So, being as moral and honest as I am I accepted even though I knew that it would be a risk for my own employment. The lady won and the company paid her. I was lucky as the company treated me well and I had no problems with my employer. Still it was really a hard choice to make.

A beautiful evening with a really horrible ending
One evening a friend and I were going for a walk through a forest to a lake just to sit and chat with the gorgeous view of the lake. Going there we passed a jogging trail and we saw a man laying down in his jogging clothes and trainers on his stomach and a woman standing beside him looking around. The man was really exhausted by the look of it. We continued and had a lovely chat by the lake and after about 30 minutes we returned and now the man was still laying on the ground but with a light blue blanket covering him and the ambulance was there. Then we understood that the man had died while running probably a heart attack and we...we had just previously passed by...
