A couple was leaving the restaurant but they thought the window was the doorway out and the owner said: I think it is easier if you walk this way instead and pointed to the main exit.
Also a lady was on her way into the kitchen and the staff stopped her and pointed her to the right direction to the restroom/WC/ladies.
My husband was also a bit confused when he ordered wine from the chef who happened to be out in the diner area...
On the same subject, something that happened some time ago: I was on the way to the ladies and I passed a table and one of the women asked me: - Could I have another spoon please? I responded I do not work here. She was really embarrassed.
At another time I had just arrived to a restaurant and a lady asked me: - Do you have a table for 4 people? - I replied I do not know as I do not work here. She was really embarrassed.
For some reason I really fit in...
