The one who laughs first will be the one who laughs last

When my husband was a kid his younger brother was going to pass by a man who spits on purpose on people. He told is younger brother: - Do not go close to that man he spits on people. The younger brother ignored him and he got wet by spit. My husband sometimes still jokes about this incident with his brother but I think he will stop now...3-4 years ago he and I and our 10- year old daughter  were walking along and then from nowhere the same man spitted towards my daughter and my husband tried to protect her so he leaned forward and got wet by spit. So the one who laughs first will pay eventually...
